Assessing Risk at Tasty Foods
[ send me this paper ]
A 4 page paper discussing risk associated with a potential new product. Assessing the project risk is difficult in that we cannot know all conditions that will apply by the time the product reaches the market. It does appear that there is less risk than originally believed, however, based on the results of CAPM analysis. Monte Carlo simulation likely will confirm the findings of assessment using CAPM. Other approaches include altering variable values (salvage value, unit sales, revenues, sales price, variable costs) to find the level at which NPV remains positive. CAPM provides an acceptable overarching view. Bibliography lists 2 sources. Accompanying spreadsheet and PowerPoint presentation are available.

Assessing Small Office Accounts Receivable
[ send me this paper ]
A 9 page paper discussing operations of a small medical center’s business office, particularly as they apply to the accounts receivable function. There are several steps that the center can take now to both streamline its operations and create a more secure environment. The ultimate goal needs to be full automation of course, but the center still can take beneficial measures now in anticipation of fully automating business operations in the future. Includes a flowchart of one clerk’s responsibilities and suggestions for pre-automation improvements that can be made now. No sources listed.

Assessing the Effects of Increased Corporate Governance
[ send me this paper ]
A 15 page proposal for studying this topic. Nations and organizations throughout the world are more aware of the need for greater corporate governance, and many have taken or are considering alterations to standards that could increase corporate responsibility and compliance in financial reporting. The study proposed here seeks to determine how accounting and auditing standards may be affected by these changes. Bibliography lists 31 sources.

Assessing the Financial Statements of Alliance Health
[ send me this paper ]
A 6 page paper examining financial records to assess the health of the company and to suggest methods of improving its cash position. Alliance Health has been growing in terms of all leading indicators of corporate health for three years (increased net income, decreased accounts receivable, decreased accounts payable, decreased debt and increased cash at year end), yet the company’s cash flow position has deteriorated. Because Alliance does not carry an untoward level of debt at present, the recommendation for improving its cash position is to take on debt sufficient to give it positive working capital and improve ROE, while simultaneously increasing its operating efficiency to reduce cycle time at least to 2001 levels. Bibliography lists 3 sources.
